US Bolsters Military Presence as B-52 Bombers Arrive in Israel Region
Enhancing its support to Israel, The United States has increased its military presence in the Middle-East, deploying B-52 bombers to deter potential Iranian aggression. Amid heightened tensions surrounding the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict and potential Iranian involvement, reports from U.S. Central Command share that the latest deployments aim to support Israel and maintain stability in the region.
To signal strength and dissuade Iran from attacking Israel directly or through proxy forces, recent U.S. military movements include the arrival of a B-52 bomber, as part of its broader strategy. Additional American assets deployed include destroyers, fighter squadrons, tankers, and THAAD missile defense systems stationed in Israel, while the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier is likely positioned in the Arabian Sea.
The U.S. reportedly also warned Iran through diplomatic channels that is through Swiss intermediaries that it may not be able to restrain Israel from retaliating if attacked again. This message reportedly reached Iran, underscoring the urgency of American concerns. Washington’s diplomatic maneuvering coincides with reports of increased movements by Iran, suggesting that Tehran is weighing its options for potential responses. However, there is no indication of the timing or nature of any planned Iranian actions.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Warns of “Crushing Response” to U.S. and Israel Amid Escalating Tensions
Earlier Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei issued a stern warning to both the United States and Israel on Saturday, vowing a “crushing response” to recent attacks on Iranian assets and allied forces. His remarks follow multiple Israeli strikes against Iranian military targets, including attacks on its ballistic missile production sites and key defenses.
Israel in recent weeks has intensified strikes on Iranian-linked forces across the region. Iran has signaled potential retaliation, with some officials advocating a response via regional proxies rather than a direct strike on Israel, following a targeted attack by Israel on October 26, which allegedly killed five Iranian personnel. Iran’s “Axis of Resistance”, composed of proxies like Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza, continues to bear the brunt of Israeli attacks.
In response to Israel’s recent offensives, Khamenei appeared to shift his stance from earlier cautious remarks, warning that the “enemies” will face retribution for aggression toward Iran and its allies. Meanwhile, Israel continues its military efforts against Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon, vowing to prevent any destabilizing force from challenging its borders.
