Billie’s cultural impact extends beyond music. In August, she performed her hit “BIRDS OF A FEATHER” during the summer games’ closing ceremony, representing Los Angeles and generating her biggest day ever on Shazam. She also teamed up with Charli XCX on “Guess,” a summer anthem, and is currently headlining her sold-out HIT ME HARD AND SOFT tour, which continues into 2025.  Billie’s success this year is further highlighted by her seven GRAMMY nominations, including Record of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year. Notably, she becomes the first artist to win Apple Music’s Artist of the Year twice, having first earned the accolade in 2019.

Rachel Newman, Apple Music’s Senior Director of Content and Editorial, praised Billie’s evolution: “From her debut with ‘Ocean Eyes’ nearly a decade ago to her latest achievements, Billie’s artistry continues to inspire and resonate globally. This year has showcased her growth, courage, and authenticity on her own terms.”  Reflecting on the honor, Billie expressed gratitude: “Since day one, Apple Music has supported my music and artistry. Being recognized as Artist of the Year again is truly humbling.” Fans can celebrate Billie’s milestone by revisiting her discography in Spatial Audio and exploring Apple Music’s curated playlists highlighting the artists and songs that defined 2024.
